Elizabeth Forgie

(International Liaison, Former Principal)

Mrs Forgie was Principal of Kerikeri High School for twenty nine years and is well known to our International agents, parents and students at home and overseas. Mrs Forgie has regularly visited our International agents overseas. As recently as November 2018 she was in Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, Denmark and Norway. In her time as Principal Mrs Forgie has led the school in its expansion to over 1500 students in state of the art educational environment. She has overseen the design and building of our specialist learning areas such as our Science and Mathematics building, our purpose built Visual Arts and Technology building, the Business and Enterprise learning spaces and our Hospitality and Restaurant Training building, a hugely popular space for International Students. Under her leadership the curriculum has been repeatedly recognised with outstanding ERO inspections, the school has won National Awards for curriculum design in International Education and was the inaugural winner of the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Education.

The quality of education at Kerikeri High School has placed it at the forefront of education in New Zealand,  where it is recognised for outstanding achievement in education.   Kerikeri High School offers a wide range of subjects beyond the traditional curriculum, something much praised by our International Students.   These include our award winning Academic Plus programmes, Outdoor Education and National Award Winning Hospitality courses.    Mrs Forgie is passionate about the value of International Education in our school and now works closely with the team in the role of International Liaison to ensure our students continue to have an enjoyable, rewarding and safe experience in New Zealand.   Mrs Forgie was named a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in June of 2022.

Our new Principal is Mr Mike Clent, a hugely experienced Deputy Principal and Associate Principal of Kerikeri High School.   Under Mr Clent’s leadership the school is going from strength to strength.  Mr Clent is also a huge supporter of International Education in our school.
